ABOUT CARP PHYSIO

Physical Therapy is the art and science of applying physical agents, forces, exercise, and manual techniques to promote healing and increase function and well being. We work within the broader medical community and emphasize evidence based interventions supported by medical research. A Physical Therapist practitioner (PT) is licensed by the state in which he/she practices and in California is represented by the Physical Therapy Board of California.

Most patients are referred to us by their personal physician or specialist. We evaluate and treat patients to address functional limitations related to a medical diagnosis, and/or a physical or neurological condition. Our primary insight is to evaluate human movement and design a treatment plan to overcome or mitigate abnormal movement and dysfunction. We evaluate each patient to address gross and fine motor control, musculoskeletal integrity, postural dynamics, and strength and range of motion. A treatment plan is formulated with the patient according to his goals and treatment potential.

Physical Therapy has been proven to be effective in addressing a multitude of ailments including pain, weakness, postural dysfunction, gait and balance disturbance, and poor endurance.

FAQs

Who can benefit from physical therapy?

Anyone having a limitation due to pain, weakness, loss of motion or mobility, can be helped by physical therapy.

Do I need a prescription from my doctor before I start physical therapy?

We can perform an evaluation prior to getting a prescription, but current law requires we have one for continued treatment if it is necessary.

What should I wear to my appointments?

Loose fitting clothing that you would be comfortable exercising in is preferred. Also a closed toe or “sneaker” type shoe is most appropriate.

Can I bring my children or other family members to my appointments?

Due to patient privacy concerns we ask that family members and children remain home unless they are a caregiver for the patient.

What are your hours?

We are open Monday through Thursday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am – 2 pm.
